Those larger-than-life outfits are thanks to hours of planning by Ariana's stylist, Emily Men. Ahead of the Season 8 premiere, Madix chatted with Peacock Blog about the magic that goes into her Fiji wardrobe, dishing all of the juicy details.

"It’s usually somewhere in the 20s," Madix revealed about the amount of outifts she brings to Fiji. With each season of Love Island USA lasting around six weeks, it's no wonder a lot of thought goes into what gets tossed in Madix's suitcase.

With cameras rolling nonstop, this isn't a typical tropical getaway, so Madix needs to prepare for any twist and turn around the corner. And not every ensemble is treated equally.
"You have all the outfits for the actual show, and we always know the top, big ones are gonna be the premiere, Casa Amor recoupling, and the finale. And then however many Aftersuns that I’m doing," Madix said while reflecting on her epic wardrobe. "Then we have all of those outfits, and then of course, we have some backups or some wildcards in case they decide they want me to go in for a challenge or something changes, and all of a sudden, maybe I’m not feeling that anymore."
Ever the girl's girl, Ariana added that viewers will never catch her wearing a similar outfit to one of her Islanders. Flexibility is crucial while navigating the winding competition. "Things are always changing on a dime out there," she said.

Weeks before Fiji has even landed on Madix's radar, the reality TV icon spends ample time working with her stylist on which looks will wow the Islanders and audience.
"We sent ideas back and forth for a very long time through either Instagram, or I see something that I like that someone else is wearing, and I said something like, 'This will be great for the show.' And then we have a couple of fittings," Madix shared. "And then it’s just certain things that can be altered or not."
That's right, most of Madix's ensembles are tailored to her exact measurements, ensuring a drop-dead gorgeous fit. If it can't be altered or doesn't fit, the ensemble doesn't make it to the suitcase. Madix continued, "There’s always a lot on the cutting room floor, so to speak."
It's also always ensure that her ensemble aligns with production's needs. "Sometimes we have to [tailor ensembles] on-site once I’m in it, and then we have to figure out how to mic it," Madix shared. "So, you know, you have your lavalier mic and the mic pack, and the mic pack has to go somewhere, and if it’s a really sheer dress, we have our ways. I get real intimate with those mic packs. And thank God for nude mic cords because there are mics in very interesting places sometimes."
