Ready for some serious suburban secrets? Peacock is diving headfirst into the mystery-comedy waters with a fresh take on the 1989 cult classic The ‘Burbs, and we’ve got the inside scoop on the star-studded cast.
The reimagined Peacock Original, starring and executive produced by Keke Palmer and debuting February 8, centers on a young couple who, after reluctantly moving into the husband’s childhood home, discovers that their quiet neighborhood isn’t as peaceful as it seems. Think long-lost secrets, new deadly threats, and an all-around wild ride through suburbia. Oh, and did we mention the incredible cast?

Who’s in the cast of Keke Palmer's new Peacock series, The ‘Burbs?
Keke Palmer (Nope, Password)
A professional actress since age 11, Keke Palmer debuted in the film Barbershop 2: Back in Business, but she gained huge attention for playing the lead in Akeelah and the Bee, as well as Jordan Peele's 2022 UFO film, Nope. She led her first television series True Jackson, VP for three seasons. Her first studio album, So Uncool, was released in 2007, and she's since released two other albums and five EPs. She's the current host of NBC's Password, and this year co-stars in director Boots Riley's sci-fi comedy, I Love Boosters.
Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise, The Afterparty 2)
Jack Whitehall is a British comedian who has created or hosted several U.K. series including Bad Education, Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, Jack Whitehall: Training Days, and Jack Whitehall's Sporting Nation. He also co-starred in the U.S. comedy/mystery The Afterparty, and the popular limited series, Good Omens.
Julia Duffy (Palm Royale, Newhart)
A comedy legend, Julia Duffy earned seven Emmy nominations for playing Stephanie Vanderkellen in the classic sitcom, Newhart. She was in Designing Women for a season and was a guest actor on Reba. She also was part of the Broadway production Once in a Lifetime, and appeared in many SoCal regional theater productions.
Paula Pell (Girls5eva, Saturday Night Live)
A legendary Saturday Night Live writer from 1995 to 2013 and for 30 Rock Season 4, Paula Pell transitioned out of the writers' room with guest roles in shows like Parks and Recreation, Documentary Now!, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Pell then co-starred in series like A.P. Bio, Mapleworth Murders, and Girls5eva.
Mark Proksch (What We Do in the Shadows, The Office)
A comedian and actor, Mark Proksch made his television debut as Nate Nickerson on The Office. He co-starred in the series Decker and Dream Corp LLC. But his career hit a new level playing energy vampire Colin Robinson in What We Do in the Shadows.
Kapil Talwalkar (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Night Court)
Actor Kapil Talwalkar first delighted audiences on television playing Tobin Batra in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. He was a recurring character in the Charmed reboot, and most recently was Neil in NBC's Night Court revival.

What is The ‘Burbs about?
Set in present-day suburbia, The ‘Burbs follows a young couple (Palmer and Whitehall) who move into the husband’s childhood home. What starts as a typical suburban life quickly unravels as new neighbors arrive with explosive secrets. Prepare for suspense, dark humor, and plenty of twists you didn’t see coming.
Who is behind The ‘Burbs?
The series comes from Imagine Entertainment and Fuzzy Door, with executive producers Brian Grazer (Empire, Arrested Development), Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus, as well as Seth MacFarlane (Ted), Erica Huggins, and Aimee Carlson. Plus, executive producer Celeste Hughey (Palm Royale, Dead to Me) is penning the script, and Rachel Shukert (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) is also executive producing with Palmer.
Dana Olsen, the writer of Joe Dante's original 1989 film starring Tom Hanks, is a co-executive producer with Amy Aniobi, Zora Bikangaga, and Neil Reynolds.
And the cherry on top? Cross and Daisy Jones and the Six director Nzingha Stewart is stepping behind the camera to direct the first episode and serve as an executive producer.
