How to Watch Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs: Stream on Peacock LIVE, Schedule, Kickoff Time
Sunday Night Football caps off another day of NFL action with a primetime thriller. Find out how to watch the Detroit Lions take on the Kansas City Chiefs LIVE.

The biggest games of the NFL season are on Sunday Night Football. Every week, you can catch must-see matchups LIVE after the rest of Sunday’s action has concluded. This week, Sunday Night Football takes us to Kansas City, MO where the Detroit Lions will face the hometown Chiefs.
Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Lions (4–1, 1st in NFC North) may have stumbled out of the gate this season with a 27–13 loss to the Green Bay Packers, but they have not missed a step since. They followed that performance up with decisive wins over the Bears, Ravens, Browns, and Bengals. Their tour through the AFC continues in Kansas City, where they’ll face a Chiefs squad that’s still dangerous despite some uncharacteristic struggles. Since that first game, the Lions have had one of the best passing attacks in the game. Quarterback Jared Goff is accurate and efficient under pressure. Even when the pass protection breaks down, he’s able to get the ball out and often into the hands of wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. It also helps that Detroit has a potent run attack thanks to running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. With explosive talent like that on the field, the Lions’ offense looks unstoppable on nearly every drive. The other side of the ball may present some challenges. Detroit’s secondary is beset by injuries this year, and they just lost another cornerback in Terrion Arnold. The Lions make up for the missing pieces with an elite offensive line, but they’re still vulnerable to deep attacks — like the ones they’ll probably face from Kansas City this weekend. If the offense can keep running up the score like they have been though, they can easily make up for any shortcomings and extend their four-game win streak on Sunday night.
The Chiefs (2–3, 3rd in AFC West) are struggling more than we’re used to seeing from them in recent years. After extremely close losses to the Chargers and the Eagles, the Chiefs appeared to get back on top for two weeks. A win over the Giants and a dominant 37–20 performance over the Ravens had Kansas City looking like Kansas City again. Then came last week and a surprise 28–31 loss to the Jaguars, thanks in part to defensive errors allowing Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence to score on a play that began with a botched snap. You can call that a fluke, but we’re accustomed to seeing flukey plays favor the Chiefs. All three of their losses this year have been close, meaning the offense is keeping them in the game through all four quarters. Penalties have cost them a few chances this season, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t changed. He’s still as elusive and dangerous as ever. He has three rushing touchdowns and eight passing touchdowns so far. Tight end Travis Kelce accounts for two of those. Even in losses, this offense is starting to click, and this week, they’ll be playing a defense that’s vulnerable to the pass. If the Chiefs can avoid penalties on both sides of the ball, Mahomes could outscore the Lions in front of the home crowd on Sunday Night Football.
