The return of the NFL regular season means the return of Sunday Night Football. Every week, you can catch one of the NFL’s biggest matchups LIVE after the rest of Sunday’s action has concluded. This season, Sunday Night Football starts the show with a showstopper. The Baltimore Ravens begin the season on the road against the Buffalo Bills.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills

The Ravens are coming off another phenomenal season with quarterback Lamar Jackson at the helm. Whenever Jackson is on the field, it’s pure magic. This team finished 12–5 last season, and when they won, they ran up the score on their opponents. That took them to the divisional round against the Bills, where they fell short in the snow. Not only is there no snow this week, the Ravens are still mad about that playoff loss. Expect them to play like it. Running back Derrick Henry is still one of the best in the game, powering through defenders when he has the ball and opening up passing opportunities for Jackson when he doesn’t. Speaking of which, the Ravens also added wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the roster to give Jackson even more weapons downfield. The defense has also been beefed up with safety Malaki Starks added in the draft and cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Chidobe Awuzie joining in free agency. Baltimore’s hoping those additions are enough to stop Bills quarterback Josh Allen from doing Josh Allen things. If they’re right, the Ravens will get revenge on Sunday Night.

The Bills went 13–4 last season, and nobody would be surprised if they did even better this season. This team routinely makes a clear case for being the best in the AFC North, and are one of the best in the entire AFC along with the Chiefs and their opponents this week, the Ravens. Allen has always been an amazing quarterback, able to throw with pinpoint accuracy and run like a beast when he takes the ball himself. Last year, he got even better. Interceptions had plagued him in the past, but in 2024, he threw the least interceptions of his career. That’s partially thanks to running back James Cook, opening up the ground game for the team. Cook put up 16 rushing touchdowns last year. A threat like that on the ground, means more open wide receivers for the quarterback to throw to. Injuries could be the sticking point for this team on Sunday. At time of writing, wide receiver Keon Coleman is questionable for Sunday and fellow WR Khalil Shakir is dealing with an ankle injury. If the rest of the Bills receiver corps can cover for those injuries though, Buffalo could open the season with a W.
