With today's news that Peacock is renewing Keke Palmer's hit mystery/comedy series The ‘Burbs for a second season, it's definitely going to be wine night in Hinkley Hills. What could go wrong in the “safest town in America”?!

How to Watch

Stream The 'Burbs exclusively on Peacock.

Of course, that's what Hinkley Hills was advertised as when Palmer's Samira moved there in Season 1 with her husband, Rob (Jack Whitehall), and their new baby — only to be reminded daily by the lurking Victorian next store that "safest" was never really the case. And what a case Season 1 proved to be: entertaining, twisty, and ending on such a suspenseful note, that after more than 1.7 billion viewing minutes, the world beckoned for more.

And now, thanks to Peacock's announcement today that The 'Burbs is officially being renewed for Season 2, we'll get more!

Peacock renews The 'Burbs for Season 2

The cast stands on a porch and looks out concernedly on The Burbs Episode 102.

"We’re so thrilled that audiences loved Season 1 of The ’Burbs, and are going to get to spend more time in Hinkley Hills with Keke and the rest of this incredible cast," Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBC & Peacock, said in today's announcement of The 'Burbs Season 2 renewal. "A huge congratulations to all of the writers, producers and crew who updated the beloved original film and made something funny, warm and highly contemporary."

The show, which Nielsen ranked as a top 10 streaming original season for four consecutive weeks, is loosely based on Tom Hanks' 1989 movie, The 'Burbs, but gets reimagined for our contemporary suburban times by showrunner Celeste Hughey (Palm RoyaleDead to Me) and company. Besides Palmer and Whitehall, the show features an outstanding supporting cast, including regulars Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar.

Palmer also executive produces alongside writer Rachel Shukert, director Nzingha Stewart, co-executive producer Dana Olsen, as well as Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins and Aimee Carlson for Fuzzy Door, and Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner and Natalie Berkus for Imagine Entertainment.

There's no time line when Season 2 will drop on Peacock, but you can stream the entirety of The 'Burbs Season 1 right here.

What is 'The Burbs about?

Samira (Keke Palmer) walks past a block party with a stroll on The Burbs Season 1 Episode 4.

"Inspired by the 1989 horror-comedy film of the same name and set in present-day suburbia, The ’Burbs follows a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood," per today's announcement.
