With the NFL regular season and the Wild Card round in the rearview mirror, only eight teams remain to fight for a spot at Super Bowl LX. The final showdown of the Divisional round takes us to Chicago where the Los Angeles Rams face off against the hometown Bears

The Rams (12–5, No. 5 Seed, 2nd in NFC West) looked like favorites to earn the No. 1 NFC seed for much of the season. Quarterback Matthew Stafford remains a quick decision-maker and is deadly accurate with the ball. Especially with targets like wide receiver Puka Nacua on his side. Nacua excels at getting out in space and making defenses pay by racking up yards after the catch. Even if the defense manages to shut down Nacua, that likely leaves fellow WR Davante Adams wide open. And if he’s covered, tight ends Colby Parkinson or Tyler Higbee will be happy to take the ball a few yards down field.

When this offense is clicking, there’s no good answer for opposing defenses. Oh, andthere’s the running game. Running back Kyren Williams has racked up 1,252 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on his own. With all these pieces in place, it’s no wonder Stafford has had his best year yet with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdowns. Despite some late-season struggles against the Seahawks and Falcons, this team is still a juggernaut capable of taking down anyone in their path. Of course, there is the weather to take into account. Stafford is 1–9 playing in cold or rainy conditions, and it will be very cold in Chicago on Sunday. If he can stay as hot as he’s been all season though, Stafford could put that narrative to bed and take the Rams to the NFC Championship.

Matthew Stafford and Caleb Williams will play in the NFL Playoffs Divisional round: Rams vs. Bears, Sunday at 6p ET on NBC and Peacock.

The Bears (11–6, No. 2 NFC Seed, 1st in NFC North) had a miracle season that even Bears fans might not have predicted back in September. This team just kept racking up wins, though. In his first year as head coach, Ben Johnson has turned this team completely around from last season. Quarterback Caleb Williams saw a huge improvement in his sophomore outing as a Chicago Bear, with 3,942 passing yards and 27 touchdowns. It hasn’t always looked pretty, though, as the Bears have found themselves trailing late in the fourth quarter seven times this season before coming back to win.

That appears to be Williams’ superpower: No matter what the scoreboard says, he’s able to stay calm and make big plays when it counts. Unfortunately for the Bears, so can Stafford. Although, with the Rams defense looking porous late in the season, Williams could have the edge here. Especially with wide receiver Rome Odunze back on the field. He and fellow WR DJ Moore are listed as questionable, but they are preparing to play. Of course, Chicago can always lean on running back D’Andre Swift to take some of the pressure off. This Bears team has proven that you can never count them out, even if they’re trailing at the two-minute warning. If Williams can even stay close to matching Stafford’s scoring, the Bears could deliver another big playoff win at Soldier Field.
