America's Got Talent: Every Act Competing on the Season 20 Live Shows

The competition is getting fierce.

By Philiana Ng

After weeks of memorable auditions and show-stopping golden buzzers, Season 20 of America’s Got Talent is headed to the live shows with the 44 acts who will be moving on to the quarterfinals. And now, it’ll be up to the viewers watching at home to decide which acts advance and which acts go home. Let’s meet the Top 44, who are one step closer to winning the $1 million grand prize and their own show in Las Vegas.

When do the America’s Got Talent live shows begin?

With the top 44 acts set, America’s Got Talent’s live quarterfinals begin Tuesday, Aug 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. The first results show will air the following day, on Wednesday, Aug 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Missed the action or want to relive the performances? Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.

How do the America’s Got Talent live shows work?

The live quarterfinals will roll out over four weeks, with two-hour performance episodes featuring 11 different acts on Tuesdays and one-hour results shows on Wednesdays. Each week, judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Sofia Vergara can automatically push an act through to the finals by using the live golden buzzer, leaving the remaining 10 acts to compete for America’s votes. The three acts who receive the most votes each week advance to the semifinals.

During the semifinals, 12 teams will vie for the AGT crown with the six acts receiving the most votes moving on to the finals. The judges will also have the ability to use a semifinal golden buzzer, sending an act directly to the finals. The acts will be joined by the four lucky live golden buzzer recipients – making up the season’s Top 11 finalists – to compete for the ultimate prize.
