What is DIG about?
The 10-episode series tells the story of four women on an archaeological excavation who discover a secret that puts them squarely in the middle of a wild international conspiracy. Poehler plays the lead archaeologist, Elise.
DIG is based on the 2023 novel Excavations by Kate Myers, and the author will also serve as the show's executive producer.
During her August 2024 visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers, Poehler revealed that the book that inspired the series was one of her favorite reads of the year:
"It's about women descending on an archeological dig site," Poehler explained to Seth Meyers. "I love the idea of digging things up, things being buried. But I always want to know, if you watch TikTok and you see things being uncovered: Did they just put it there?"
When does DIG premiere on Peacock?
DIG premieres on Peacock on Monday, November 23, 2026.
