Premier League

A new year means there are only a few days left of Festive Fixtures, but this weekend might be the wildest yet. After winning all of their last five matches, Man City is threatening to take the top spot away from Arsenal once again. Liverpool has also made a stunning climb from the middle of the table back into the top four with two draws and three wins in their last five. This is why we love the festive period. The story of the entire season can change over just a few days.

Basketball

Big Ten Men’s Basketball

One of the greatest months in college basketball is here. January is where the season kicks into high gear. There have been a few conference matchups already, but the intensity really ramps up here. Every game feels bigger than the last. Every opponent, whether they are ranked or not, feels tougher. After the new year, these games can mean the difference between playing in late March and staying home. The men of the Big Ten are kicking off the new year on Peacock with a huge slate of games featuring some of the biggest teams in the conference. It all starts with No. 24 USC taking on No. 2 Michigan and the thrills don’t let up from there. Watch No. 9 Michigan State, No. 13 Nebraska, No. 25 Iowa, and more of your favorite schools as they ring in the new year with nonstop buckets.

Friday Jan 2 at 7p ET: USC (24) vs. Michigan (2)

Friday Jan 2 at 7:30p ET: Oregon vs. Maryland

Friday Jan 2 at 8p ET: Ohio State vs. Rutgers

Friday Jan 2 at 9p ET: Michigan State (9) vs. Nebraska

Saturday Jan 3 at 6p ET: UCLA vs. Iowa (25)

Monday Jan 5 at 7p ET: Oregon vs. Rutgers

Tuesday Jan 6 at 9p ET: UCLA vs. Wisconsin

Big XII Men’s Basketball

Things are popping off in the Big XII conference to start 2026. These teams have their own gauntlet of conference matchups ahead of them, and the coming week’s games feature some of the toughest teams in college basketball. No. 1 Arizona is undefeated, and it’s hard to imagine a team that can beat them. Will they be the first team since 1976 to have a perfect season? That’ll be tough in a conference with teams like No. 17 Kansas, No. 10 BYU, and No. 3 Iowa State, who all have games this week. If these teams stay winning this week, any one of them could give the Wildcats a run for their money down the road.

Saturday Jan 3 at 2p ET: Kansas (17) vs. UCF

Saturday Jan 3 at 4p ET: Arizona (1) vs. Utah

Wednesday Jan 7 at 8p ET: Iowa State (3) vs. Baylor

Wednesday Jan 7 at 9p ET: Arizona State vs. BYU (10)

Big Ten Women's Basketball

We’ve only got one Big Ten Women’s Basketball game to start January with, but it’s a big one. The Battle of Los Angeles is one of the most anticipated matchups every year, but especially when both teams are this good. No. 4 UCLAis undefeated in the conference and has only lost one game overall. They’ll be tested against No. 17 USC, who’ve lost three games this season, but keep finding ways to come back. This game was made for Saturday night.

Saturday Jan 3 at 8p ET: USC (17) vs. UCLA (4)

Big East Men’s Basketball

The Big East is always competitive, but so far, nobody in the conference has been able to take down No. 4 UConn. The Huskies have only taken one loss all season in a non-conference matchup, and Marquette will have their hands full trying to deal with them on Sunday. Meanwhile Creighton, though unranked, is also undefeated in conference play and will try to stay that way against Seton Hall. The action continues into the next week with a St. John’s vs. Butler on Tuesday and a Wednesday night doubleheader where UConn and Creighton get back in action against Providence and Villanova. These are some strong teams, and they'll be doing everything they can to compete for a spot in March’s tournament now that the new year is here.

Sunday Jan 4 at 12p ET: Creighton vs. Seton Hall

Sunday Jan 4 at 2p ET: Marquette vs. UConn (4)

Tuesday Jan 6 at 7p ET: St. John’s vs. Butler

Wednesday Jan 7 at 7p ET: UConn (4) vs. Providence

Wednesday Jan 7 at 7:30p ET: Creighton vs. Villanova

Big East Women’s Basketball

The women of the Big East also have a thriller planned this Sunday. Villanova is undefeated in the conference and is on an eight-game winning streak at time of writing. They’ll be going on the road against a Marquette squad that remains dangerous despite taking one Big East loss. Marquette will have the home crowd behind them for this one, and they’re eager to start the new year with a winning streak.

Sunday Jan 4 at 4p ET: Villanova vs. Marquette

NBA

The NBA also turns up the heat in the new year. Especially on Peacock NBA Monday, which is starting 2026 with a triple header. That’s right, you can catch three games back-to-back-to-back, and they’re all certified stunners. It all starts with two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference going head-to-head as the Knicks take on the Pistons. Keep it going with the near-unstoppable Nuggets taking on the unpredictable 76ers, and close out the night in California with Warriors vs. Clippers. We’re keeping the party going on Coast 2 Coast Tuesday with Heat vs. Timberwolves and Mavericks vs. Kings. Hey, it’s a new year. Why not celebrate with a staggering amount of basketball?

Monday Jan 5 at 7p ET: New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons

Hockey

Notre Dame Hockey

Just under a month since their last game, the Fighting Irish hockey team is back and ready to take on 2026. It all starts with a battle against the Western Michigan Broncos. The Irish are 4–11–1 on the season, so a win to start the new year would be huge. This will be a tough game, though. Western Michigan is 11–6–0, but with Notre Dame playing in a very competitive Big Ten hockey conference, they could have an edge here. Could this be the turning point of the season? Only one way to find out.

Friday Jan 2 at 7p ET: Western Michigan vs. Notre Dame

Can you believe the NFL regular season is already coming to a close? Don’t worry though, the most exciting games are still ahead of us. That includes the final game of the regular season on Sunday Night Football. With one AFC playoff spot yet to be decided, the Baltimore Ravens will head to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers in a game where everything is on the line. The winner of this one will win the AFC North and claim the last available playoff spot. The Ravens just hung 41 points on the Packers last Saturday night to keep themselves in position to take the AFC North while the Steelers’ loss to the Browns kept the division in play. All that set us up for one of the most exciting and consequential games of the regular season.
