Nature is king in The Americas. In NBC’s  10-part nature documentary series, extraordinary areas of the world and parts of the animal kingdom are shown for the first time on television. Made over the course of five years, here’s what you need to know about the special television event.  

How to watch The Americas? 

After making its premiere last season, The Americas will be airing once again this summer on NBC! Encore episodes will air Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET alongside the new series Surviving Earth. Episodes start up on June 4 and run through the end of July.

Who narrates The Americas? 

Oscar® winner Tom Hanks narrates all 10 episodes of the nature documentary series. Oscar®- and Grammy®-winning composer Hans Zimmer also wrote original music.

The Americas, a co-production between the BBC Studios Natural History Unit and Universal Television Alternative Studio, showcases the wonders, secrets, and fragilities of the world’s greatest supercontinent. For the first time, the Americas stars in its own incomparable series, using innovative technology to uncover never-before-seen behavior, and highlight the extraordinary, untold wildlife stories that will deeply connect with millions around the world.

Each one-hour episode puts the spotlight on a specific location across the Americas: the Atlantic Coast, Mexico, the Wild West, the Amazon, the Frozen North, the Gulf Coast, the Andes, the Caribbean, the West Coast, and Patagonia.
