Where Rob and Maura Stand After The Traitors Finale
Did the explosive finale cause a permanent rift?
Outside of the intrigue of just watching The Traitors unfold this season, one of the biggest audience obsessions was whether or not Rob Rausch (Love Island) and Maura Higgins (Love Island UK) were going to walk out of the castle as a couple.
They had big chemistry and Rob looked after Maura in all of the challenges, even carrying her fireman style across a meadow when she was exhausted. To some, it was the height of chivalry. For shrewder observers, it was masterful curation by Rob of a future finale ally.
As the finale episode proved, Rob calculated his odds of winning with Maura at his side, and they were in his favor. He convinced her they were two Faithfuls gunning for the prize money together, and she voted accordingly until they were the last two players standing. And then Rob revealed he was a Traitor, leaving Maura dumbfounded.
In the very last minutes of Season 4, both host Alan Cumming and Rob acknowledged Maura's anger at being duped and them both being frightened of her retribution. Of course, The Traitors Reunion Show was their chance to address the betrayal in the open, so are they now mortal enemies for life. Or, are they more like frenemies? Check out below.

Did Maura and Rob know one another before The Traitors?
The knew of one another because of their Love Island roots. Maura hosted Love Island Aftersun the season Rob was on Love Island. But that was the extent of their relationship before The Traitors Season 4.
In the very first episode of Season 4, it's Maura who immediately recognizes Rob in the front entrance of Ardross Castle from his time on Love Island Season 6. Immediately, Maura asks him to have her back in the game, and his reply is noncommittal. It's the kind of foreshadowing series producers dream of capturing in the moment.
How did Rob double-cross Maura in The Traitors finale?
Before the last Elimination Roundtable, Rob promises Maura that he'll take care of Eric Nam. Of course, she took that promise to imply they were going to be the final two Faithfuls and win the game. In the Fire of Truth portion of the finale, Rob technically does uphold his word by betraying Eric in the second round of End the Game vs. Banish Again. Rob voted to Banish Again, while Eric thought they were both voting to End the Game. The reversal allowed Rob and Maura to "Banish" Eric, and leave them as the final two players.

What Maura didn't know is that Rob was a Traitor from the very start so she was the key to him winning the $220,800 alone. She voted out Faithful Tara Lipinski and Traitor Eric, which made Rob the only Traitor left standing and the default winner because of the rules of the game.
Where are Rob and Maura now in the wake of The Traitors finale?
During the Reunion Special, Maura came out looking gorgeous in a couture gown, but she admitted she was still deeply embarrassed by her decision to wholesale believe Rob to the very end. Rob shared with host Andy Cohen that he promised to buy her a luxury Hermès Birkin bag (which start at $10,000 a pop) as an apology gift, which she corroborated on stage.
