**SPOILER WARNING! This story reveals spoilers about Peacock's 'The Burbs series!**

At the heart of Peacock's new mystery/thriller series, The ‘Burbs (streaming now!), starring Keke Palmer (Nope, Password) and Jack Whitehall (The Afterparty), there's a central mystery that's straddled two decades.

How to Watch

Stream The 'Burbs exclusively on Peacock.

The series is loosely based on the 1989 Tom Hanks film of the same name (also streaming on Peacock) and focuses on the uneasy suburban relocation to Hinkley Hills by newlyweds and new parents Samira (Palmer) and Rob Fisher (Whitehall). They move into the neighborhood and house that Rob grew up in, trying it on for size while his parents are traveling.

For Samira, the neighborhood is quite the culture shock as she's left the city and her brother Langston (RJ Cyler) behind. Feeling alone and isolated, she starts snooping into the abandoned Victorian home across the street and uncovers the secrets surrounding it. In particular, she comes to find out that it was the home of Alison (Amiah Miller), young Rob and his life-long best friend Naveen's (Kapil Talwalkar) good friend. A fellow schoolmate and misfit, she disappeared under dubious circumstances 20 years ago, and the case has never been solved.

By Episode 5, "The Old Face-to-Face," Alison, Rob and Naveen's story is revealed in flashbacks, and once Samira finds out, she's even more motivated to discover what secrets the house across the street holds. In particular, what happened to young Alison, and how is she connected to the new owner of what used to be her family's home?

Find out below how Alison's story connects to the present in The 'Burbs.

Who is Alison Grant in Peacock's The 'Burbs series?

In the series, Alison Grant is the only child of the Grant family, who lived in the large Victorian house on the Ashford Place cul-de-sac in the town of Hinkley Hills. She was best friends with neighbors Rob Fisher and Naveen Varma. The two young boys were clearly smitten with confident Alison, who was rebellious and unimpressed with their small town. She ended up meeting someone online who said they could help with her intended dance career, and then she was gone. The police never did a proper investigation and the traumatized Grants just moved away.

Amiah Miller smiles in a black dress.

Who plays younger Alison Grant in The 'Burbs series?

In the series, young Alison Grant is played by Amiah Miller. Her first feature role was 2016's horror film Lights Out, where she played Young Rebecca to Teresa Palmer's Older Rebecca. Miller really broke out when she gained notice as Nova in 2017's War for the Planet of the Apes. Her most recent horror film was My Best Friend's Exorcism in 2022.
