The Five Star Weekend

An eight-episode realization of the hit beach read, The Five Star Weekend premiered on July 9. The series follows Hollis Shaw (Jennifer Garner), a recently-widowed cookbook author who invites four women from different stages of her life (Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, D'Arcy Carden, and Gemma Chan) to her luxe Nantucket vacation home. Things get deliciously complicated quickly, and the exceptional cast keeps you glued to novelist Hilderbrand's story.

Long Bright River

Apples Never Fall

Apples Never Fall

Originally released on Peacock in 2024, Apples Never Fall revolves around a celebrated West Palm Beach family whose life gets turned upside down after their matriarch (Annette Bening) goes missing without a trace. Co-starring Alison Brie, Jake Lacy, and the late, great Sam Neill, the show is based on Liane Moriarty's novel of the same name.

Seeking Persephone

A gorgeously-animated film based on the 2016 novel by Peter Brown, The Wild Robot tells the story of a robot (voiced by The Odyssey's Lupita Nyong'o) who is stranded on a deserted island and turns to the local animal population for support. Midwinter Break

This one's for people who love a slow burn. The 2017 novel by Bernard MacLaverty hit the big screen in 2026's Midwinter Break, starring British actress Lesley Manville and Irish actor Ciarán Hinds. The movie examines a long-married couple's relationship after they realize they've come to a crossroads while on vacation.

RED

Based on the 2003 DC Comics/WildStorm comic of the same name, RED— which stands for "Retired, Extremely Dangerous" — sees an all-star cast, led by Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, and Morgan Freeman, as retired Black Ops agents who reunite one last time. An absolute delight, and so is the sequel that's also streaming on Peacock.
