The Royal Ascot races begin Tuesday afternoon, June 16, in the United Kingdom, which means Peacock's streaming broadcast will actually begin in the morning for those of us in North America. Each race day on Peacock will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET and continue through 1:30 p.m. ET, with seven races scheduled each day. The 2026 Royal Ascot runs Tuesday through Saturday, June 20, with the final races streaming on NBC and Peacock beginning at 9 a.m. ET, and continuing on Peacock that afternoon at noon.

What is the Royal Ascot?

Horse racing at Royal Ascot dates all the way back to the 18th century, and the creation of the Gold Cup in the early 19th century cemented the course, and its annual multi-day racing event, as one of the glitziest and most celebrated events on the horse racing calendar. The event is named "Royal Ascot" because of its long association with the English monarchy, and members of the Royal Family are not just in attendance, but paraded in at the beginning of each day as the event's hosts and guests of honor. The event also observes a strict dress code, making it one of the biggest fashion events on the racing calendar.

There are 35 races on the Royal Ascot schedule, seven for each of the five days of the event. Eight of the races are Group 1, the highest rating worldwide, including the leadoff race, the Queen Anne Stakes, as well as the Prince of Wales Stakes on Wednesday, the Gold Cup on Thursday, the Commonwealth Cup on Friday, and the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes on Saturday. The combined purse for all 35 races, ranging from short five-furlong sprints to runs of more than two miles, is more than $13 million.
