O'ahu Shores Episode 1 Recap
The island fun is just heating up in the Peacock Original reality series.

It’s the end of tourist season in O’ahu, which means more opportunity for the locals to party and have their fun in the sun, and an increased chance of drama as Peacock’s O’ahu Shores crew navigates love, friendship, and the true meaning of “ohana.”
Raven, a young entrepreneur who owns a clothing company called Ravewood, moves into the Kailua Clubhouse with her friends Kaui and Rachael, and her dog Coconut. Kaui doubles as a marketing director for a popular jewelry company on O’ahu and a promoter for Moani’s Waikiki, and Rachael is a bartender who is working on starting her own golf clothing line. The girls are excited to live the single life with Rachael, who recently ended a three-year relationship with her ex-boyfriend Alex.
Raven’s grandparents come over to bless the house in a beautiful traditional ceremony honoring their Hawaiian culture. After invoking the spirits of their ancestors, the girls are ready to have fun with the “other spirits in the freezer” as they leave.
Fresh off his recent breakup, Alex meets up with Keolu where he talks about how he felt disrespected by Rachael, finding her with another guy at her house multiple times after she and Alex got into an argument. Despite their split, Alex still plans to invite Rachael to a boat party he’s planning for all his friends.
Living up to his friends’ perception that he often gets involved in the drama, Keolu can’t help but discuss Alex and Rachael’s breakup with Kaui, Raven, and his girlfriend Anya while the group lounges by the pool. Kaui and Raven are steadfast in their defense of their friend and counter that Alex hasn’t been a perfect angel in their relationship.
When Alex’s epic yacht party comes around, the gossip gets back to Rachael, who pulls Alex aside to clear things up and assure him that she’s always been honest, even if she does flirt with other guys. The two agree to move forward as friends, and Alex jokes that Keolu will be signing NDAs for future conversations.
During the yacht party, an old crush is reignited when Kaui catches Marcus’ eye. Now that he’s older, Marcus is ready to make his move. Kaui later tells Rachael during a boxing session that he asked her to hang out one-on-one, and she decides to give it a chance despite their age gap and her hesitance to be a “cougar.”
Marcus sets up an active day date, taking Kaui paddleboarding as both struggle to keep their balance but share lots of laughs. Afterwards, they have a champagne picnic and bond over where they grew up and their differences with mainland culture. Marcus gets to know Kaui on a deeper level, asking everything from her “icks” to her biggest dreams, finding that they share a strong desire to help others in their work.
After the date, Kaui is still trying to get a good read on Marcus but is impressed with him so far and invites him to come out to the club. On the way, the girls grill Kaui on her date and whether she’s really into Marcus. “It’s nice when a guy puts themselves out there and plans a date for me because you guys know that I don’t get that often,” Kaui tells them. Wanting her friend to know her worth, Raven shares her skepticism.
Flash forward to a few drinks and trouble in paradise is just getting started, with the episode ending in a confrontational cliffhanger with Marcus at the center of the drama.
