Her mom, Hawn, has been in a long-term relationship for decades with actor Kurt Russell, who helped raise Hudson, and the actress recently spilled on what it's like to be a part of such a talented family.

Hudson — who was a Battle Advisor on Season 27 of The Voice — revealed her thoughts on being part of such an influential family in Hollywood during a March 13 interview with The Associated Press, two days before the Academy Awards.

"We love being weird actors," Kate Hudson says of her family

"It's amazing," Hudson told the AP of getting to celebrate her nomination with her famous family and being part of an acting dynasty. "I sometimes really do — now that I'm older, and I have an adult child —  I do look at our family, and it's really special."

The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star also declared that she, Hawn, and Russell love being "weird actors."

"Our family is so close," Hudson continued. "We just love the art — we love being weird actors and we enjoy it, but really what we enjoy the most is each other. I really got lucky with those two."

Kate Hudson reveals why she brought her mother as her date to the 2026 Oscars

In an interview with Howard Stern prior to the Oscars, Hudson, 46, explained why she chose to bring Hawn to the affair.

"When you look at the amount of mother-daughter duos that have been in a situation where they've been nominated, there's just not that many," Hudson said. "It's so rare. So, to not share that experience would feel like... I don't know, I'd feel like something would be missing."

Besides her best actress nod for Song Sung Blue, Hudson was previously nominated for an Oscar in 2001 in the best supporting actress category for the comedy drama film Almost Famous.

Hawn has received two Academy Award nominations over the course of her career — best supporting actress for 1969's Cactus Flower, which she won, and a best actress nod for 1980's Private Benjamin.

Hawn and Hudson share the distinction of being among just a handful of mother-daughter duos who have been nominated for Oscars. Some of the others pairs include Diane Ladd and Laura Dern, Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli, and Janet Leigh and Jamie Lee Curtis.
