The cast of The Traitors gather around a giant round table on Episode 403.

SPOILER WARNING: This story reveals major plot points from Episodes 1-3 of The Traitors Season 4.

Every season of Peacock's hit series The Traitors promises shocking twists and turns, but they may have outdone themselves with a specific Season 4 twist revealed in the Episode 3 (now streaming on Peacock) pre-challenge Elimination Roundtable.

How to Watch

Stream The Traitors Thursdays at 9/8c exclusively on Peacock.

In the very first minutes of this season's premiere episode, host  Alan Cumming introduced a brand new game twist: a Secret Traitor. A game first for The Traitors, this player created a genuine mystery for not only the trio of traditional Traitors, but also for the audience who were equally in the dark.

While the twist only lasted for three episodes, it added a lot of chaos into the game play and made the trio of Traitors (Candiace Dillard Bassett, Lisa Rinna, and Rob Rausch) have to work extra hard with reduced power. Find out how and when the Secret Traitor was revealed, below.

A split of Rob Rausch, Lisa Rinna, and Candiace Dillard Bassett for The Traitors Season 4.

How the Secret Traitor works

A Secret Traitor is new to the game and introduced at the beginning of Season 4. The Secret Traitor was revealed by tarot card in the first episode. Once designated as the Secret Traitor, their identity is not shared with their Roundtable-chosen Traitors. Nor is the home audience shown their identity.

They play the game as an individual and visit with Alan off camera in the castle dungeon after the Roundtable votes. At that unseen meeting, they shortlist four players to be put up for "Murder," and the other Traitors will make their "Murder" selection only from that list.

When is the Secret Traitor revealed in The Traitors Season 4?

Per the rules Cumming shared, the Secret Traitor would be revealed at a specific merge point in the season, or if they are chosen by the Faithfuls in a Roundtable Banishment vote.

The merge point was revealed at end of Episode 2 as the reward if the trio of Traitors performing a successful "Murder" in plain sight. If they accomplished the various steps without being discovered, then the reward was getting the right to meet the Secret Traitor the next day.

However, after breakfast in Episode 3, Cumming announced there would be a change in script and the Elimination Roundtable would happen before the typical challenge. Because of that, the Roundtable players came to a consensus vote for Banishment around one player... who was revealed as the Secret Traitor.

Who is the Secret Traitor in The Traitors Season 4?

Donna Kelce wears a red patterned blazer and sits in an armchair on The Traitors Episode 401.

Despite giving her best persuasive argument that she was absolutely a Faithful and trying to throw her heat onto already contentious player Michael Rapaport, Donna Kelce was voted almost unanimously for Banishment at the second Roundtable.

As she stood next to Cumming to say goodbye to the room, she said, "I know I'm the sacrificial lamb. I know that I had a blast meeting every single one of you. On that note, I think I'm gonna go...but you got yourself a Traitor!"

The room erupted in relief at finding a Traitor. For Lisa, Rob and Candiace, it was also their surprise identity reveal of the Secret Traitor. The vote denied them their promised face-to-face meeting with Kelce, so they had to pretend their elated reactions were just because they all voted out a Traitor.

Find out what Mama Kelce has to say about her big reveal moment in the latest episode of The Traitors Official Podcast.
