What to Know About Keke Palmer’s Multi-Hyphenate Career Ahead of Her New Series, The ‘Burbs
The 'Burbs is just the latest adventure in Keke Palmer's long career.
It's safe to say that Keke Palmer is starting off 2026 with a bang, especially with the February 8 debut of her new Peacock mystery/comedy, The ‘Burbs.
Loosely based on the 1989 Joe Dante-directed and Dana Olsen-written film of the same name, this version of The 'Burbs stars Palmer and Jack Whitehall (The Afterparty) as Samira and Rob, newly married parents who have reluctantly relocated to Rob's childhood home. Their already precarious new normal is further upset when a new neighbor moves in across the street, dredging up old secrets of the cul-de-sac and deadly new threats that shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.

What to know about singer/actress/host Keke Palmer's career ahead of her new Peacock series, The 'Burbs
Who is Keke Palmer?
Born Lauren Keyana Palmer in Harvey, Illinois, Keke Palmer has an older sibling and they're the children of former actors. Maybe because of that, Palmer started performing early, singing in church choir and getting cast in Chicago area stage productions at age nine. By age 11, Palmer was cast in her first feature film, Barbershop 2: Back in Business.
Since then, she's been working consistently for 22 years across film, television, podcasting, and music. With a great voice and acting versatility, Palmer's been able to shift across media to earn her multi-hyphenate status. In 2026 alone, she'll return for a new season of hosting Password; in theaters, she'll co-star in Boots Riley's I Love Boosters and voice a character in The Angry Birds Movie 3; she's got her comedy podcast Baby, this is Keke Palmer; and of course on the small screen, she'll be slaying in Peacock's The 'Burbs.

Keke Palmer's singing/acting/hosting career highlights
Palmer hasn't slowed down since Barbershop 2: Back in Business. She's top-lined films from Akeelah and the Bee to NOPE. She had parts in high-profile television films like CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, roles in television episodes like ER, and has done voice work in animation for Winx Club and The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, among others.
On the music side, Palmer dropped her debut album So Uncool on September 18, 2007. She's since released two other studio albums and five EPs. Her last tour was the 2023 Big Boss Tour.
Does Keke Palmer have a partner? Is she a mom?
Palmer does have a son who was born February 2023. She shares pictures of him on her Instagram.
In fact, Palmer told Peacock Blog in a set visit interview recently that one of her big incentives for joining The 'Burbs is that her character, Samira, is also a new parent, and so is her co-star Jack Whitehall. So they bring that shared experience to the couple they're playing.
"They're finding themselves again after having the baby, right?" she said of the show's setup. "So it's like they did fall in love with each other and they did already have this history, but as we both know as new parents, that kind of all goes down the drain once that baby comes. It's just like you all of a sudden don't know each other anymore. I do think that we were able to have fun with that as actors."
As for her real dating life, Palmer is not currently seeing anyone. She recently told TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle that she has a new rule for all future partners, “One thing I need you to know is that I never want to live together. I like my alone time. That's real." She confirmed that applies to any future marriage, with the compromise being, "at best, separate rooms."
