From 1972-1978, 33 young men were kidnapped, murdered, and buried in a crawl space beneath their killer's house. And no one was the wiser. Not for all those years. Why? He was charming and funny. Had a good, All-American job. Was a community leader. He even volunteered to entertain sick kids... while dressed as a clown. Devil In Disguise: John Wayne Gacy peels back the twisted layers of Gacy’s life while weaving in heartrending stories of his victims; exploring the grief, guilt, and trauma of their families and friends; and exposing the systemic failures, missed opportunities, and societal prejudices that fueled his reign of terror. Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy stars Michael Chernus (Severence) as Gacy. All episodes are streaming now on Peacock.

Based on the acclaimed iHeart true-crime podcast, the Peacock Original series is based on the infamous story of how an armed robbery on the night of Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight changed not only one man’s life but ultimately transformed Atlanta into the “Black Mecca.” When a hustler named Chicken Man (Kevin Hart) hosts an afterparty to celebrate the fight with a guest list of the country’s wealthiest, the night ends with the most brazen criminal underworld heist in Atlanta’s history. Suspected of masterminding the crime, Chicken Man is hellbent on clearing his name but must convince his old adversary, J.D. Hudson (Don Cheadle), one of the first Black detectives in the city’s desegregated police force, who is tasked with bringing those responsible to justice. The stacked cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, and Terrence Howard.

Dr. Death (Season 1)

Drdeath S1 Ka Horizontal 3840x2160

Based on Wondery’s hit podcast, the first season of Dr. Death is inspired by the terrifying true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch (Joshua Jackson), a rising star in the Dallas medical community. Young, charismatic, and ostensibly brilliant, Dr. Duntsch was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice when everything suddenly changed. Patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries and left permanently maimed or dead. As victims piled up, two fellow physicians, neurosurgeon Robert Henderson (Alec Baldwin) and vascular surgeon Randall Kirby (Christian Slater), as well as Dallas prosecutor Michelle Shughart (AnnaSophia Robb), set out to stop him. The season explores the twisted mind of Dr. Duntsch and the failures of the system designed to protect the most defenseless among us. Dr. Death was created by Patrick Macmanus, who also created Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy.

A Friend of the Family is based on the harrowing true story of the Broberg family, whose daughter Jan was kidnapped multiple times over a period of a few years by a charismatic, obsessed family “friend.” The Brobergs — devoted to their faith, family, and community — were utterly unprepared for the sophisticated tactics their neighbor used to exploit their vulnerabilities, drive them apart, and turn their daughter against them. This series is inspired by the true story of how their lives were permanently altered — and how they survived. The series stars Jake Lacy, Anna Paquin, and Colin Hanks. The now-grown Jan Broberg is a producer on the Peacock Original series, and she even plays a small but pivotal role.
