SNL Announces Hosts and Musical Guests for Season 51
Live from New York, here are the latest updates for the new season.

The comedy institution is following up its monumental 50th season with new cast members, new Hosts, and new Musical Guests, and we've got everything you need to know about it right here.
From Bad Bunny and Doja Cat's season premiere episode to Amy Poehler and Melissa McCarthy's grand returns to the SNL supremacy of pop stars Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, it's a season we won't soon recover from. (Cher performed as Musical Guest in the Christmas episode. Cher!)

Oct 4 – Host Bad Bunny with Musical Guest Doja Cat
SNL launched Season 51 with Bad Bunny returning for the second time as host. He previously appeared as Musical Guest in the Season 50 finale. The three-time Grammy® Award winner began his world tour in the fall, celebrating his album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
Doja Cat made her SNL musical guest debut. The Grammy® winner's fifth album, Vie, was released Sept 26.

Oct 11 – Host Amy Poehler with Musical Guest Role Model
Amy Poehler returned to Studio 8H for her second individual hosting appearance and third overall. The episode marked SNL's 50th anniversary since its debut on Oct 11, 1975. Poehler was an SNL cast member for eight seasons from 2001-2008. The Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award winner hosts the popular podcast Good Hang With Amy Poehler.
Singer-songwriter Role Model made his SNL debut as Musical Guest. He had just marked his first Billboard No. 1 song with “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” topping the Adult Alternative Airplay chart.

Oct 18 – Host and Musical Guest Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter did double duty, marking her first appearance as host and second appearance as musical guest. She previously appeared as a musical guest for the Season 49 finale hosted by Jake Gyllenhaal. The Grammy® winner's newest album, Man's Best Friend, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Nov 1 – Host Miles Teller and Musical Guest Brandi Carlile
Miles Teller returned to host SNL for the second time. He stars in and executive produces the fantasy romantic comedy Eternity, released in theaters Nov 26.
Brandi Carlile made her third individual appearance as SNL musical guest (and fourth overall). The 11-time Grammy® winner’s newest album, Returning to Myself, is out Oct 24.
Nov 8 – Host Nikki Glaser and Musical Guest sombr
Comedian Nikki Glaser headlined Studio 8H for the first time. Glaser also hosted the 2026 Golden Globes and will soon premiere a new stand-up special on Hulu.
Singer-songwriter sombr headed to SNL for his debut appearance as musical guest. His breakout hit, “back to friends,” from his debut album, I Barely Know Her, has been streamed more than 1 billion times and tops the Billboard Hot 100 Songwriters chart.
Nov 15 – Host Glen Powell and Musical Guest Olivia Dean
Golden Globe®-nominated actor Glen Powell hosted the late-night sketch comedy show for the first time. Powell co-created and stars in Hulu’s sports comedy series Chad Powers, and starred in The Running Man, which hit theaters Nov 14.
English singer-songwriter Olivia Dean made her debut as Musical Guest. She is currently on tour in support of her album The Art of Loving, which reached No. 1 in five countries.
Dec 6 – Host Melissa McCarthy and Musical Guest Dijon
Melissa McCarthy returned to host for the sixth time. The two-time Academy Award® nominee won an Emmy for hosting SNL in 2017.
Singer, songwriter, and producer Dijon made his SNL debut. He is nominated for two Grammy Awards®, including Producer of the Year, Non-Classical and Album of the Year for producing Justin Bieber’s latest release SWAG. Dijon is on tour in support of his second studio album, Baby.
Dec 13 – Host Josh O’Connor and Musical Guest Lily Allen
Josh O’Connor took the Studio 8H stage for the first time as host. The Emmy®-winning actor stars in the latest installment in the Knives Out franchise, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
Lily Allen returned to SNL as musical guest for the second time. The Grammy®-nominated singer recently released her fifth album, West End Girl.
Dec 20 – Host Ariana Grande and Musical Guest Cher
To close out 2025, Ariana Grande returned. The Oscar®-nominated and Grammy®-winning multihyphenate, who took her final bow as Glinda in Wicked: For Good, hosted the late-night sketch show for the third time.
She was joined by iconic singer Cher, who returned to the SNL stage as musical guest for the first time in 38 years. Her first appearance took place Nov 21, 1987, when she performed “We All Sleep Alone” and “I Found Someone.” She returned Sept 26, 1992 for a Weekend Update cameo. The Oscar®, Emmy® and Grammy Award® winner’s autobiography, Cher: The Memoir, is available in paperback.

Jan 17 – Host Finn Wolfhard and Musical Guest A$AP Rocky
Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard kicked things off in 2026 with his SNL hosting debut. The actor wrapped five seasons as Mike Wheeler in the Netflix series when the final episode dropped New Year's Eve.
A$AP Rocky made his SNL debut as musical guest. The rapper previously made a cameo in 2018 during the sketch, "Friendos," with Donald Glover, Kenan Thompson, Chris Redd, and Cecily Strong. A$AP Rocky's fourth studio album, Don't Be Dumb, was released Jan 16.

Jan 24 – Host Teyana Taylor and Musical Guest Geese
Golden Globe winner and Grammy-nominated singer Teyana Taylor makes her hosting debut on January 24, though she has appeared on the show once before. The One Battle After Another star joined Kanye West on the Season 44 premiere to perform their duet "We Got Love."
Geese, the indie rock band fronted by Cameron Winter, is the first band or group to perform as Musical Guest in Season 51. Their 2025 album Getting Killed earned critical acclaim and landed on multiple Best Albums lists for the year. SNL cast member James Austin Johnson impersonated Cameron Winter during the "Random Duets Spectacular" sketch in the December 20 episode.

Jan 31 – Host Alexander Skarsgård and Musical Guest Cardi B
Alexander Skarsgård, who stars in the upcoming film Pillion, is making his SNL debut on what happens to be the show's 1000th episode.
Cardi B is making her grand return to SNL as Musical Guest nearly eight years after her first time. She last performed on April 7, 2018 when she released her first album Invasion of Privacy, and now she's coming back to SNL after releasing her second album, Am I the Drama?
