With Illumination's Minions & Monsters, the studio’s third standalone Minions movie, opening exclusively in theaters on July 1, now is the time to brush up on your yellow henchman lore!
Minions & Monsters finds our favorite little troublemakers in 1920s Los Angeles, during the Golden Age of Hollywood, where new Minions James and Henry set out to make their own epic monster movie. But when they cast real monsters, things go hilariously awry.
With this week's Minions & Monsters, the Despicable Me and Minions franchise now includes seven animated feature films, five which have been directed by Pierre Coffin, who also voices the Minions. With each Minions film, audiences learn more and more about these yellow-goggled lackeys, who fall quick and hard for any baddie who bats an eyelash at them.
In case you’re behind on your Minions history, or the bad guys they like to pledge their service to, Peacock's got you covered. Head below to find out which Despicable Me and Minions movies are currently streaming on Peacock.

Minions (2015)
Minions is the Minions' origin story. As the first standalone Minion-centric spin-off movie, directors Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda go all the way back to the yellow creatures as single cell organisms to show how they crawled out from the primordial muck looking for an evil prehistoric master. Though Minions is set mostly in the late 1960s, audiences get to see how they grew into the lackeys they are today, under the guidance of super-villainess Scarlett Overkill (Sandra Bullock).

Despicable Me 2 (2013)
Set a year after the events in Despicable Me (2012), in this direct sequel, Gru (Steve Carrell) is a fully committed girl dad and a reluctant reformed super-villain working with the Anti-Villain League (AVL). When the Minions become a target for mutation, Gru has to help them and fight the bad guys, Doctor Nefario (Russell Brand) and El Macho (Benjamin Bratt). There’s no direct connection from Minions & Monsters to Despicable Me 2 outside of seeing how their past influences their continuing dopey choices as terrible, but very funny, assistants.
